SCISSORS SHARPENING
For just $5, we will sharpen
your dressmakers shears for you. We take 6" - 12" tailoring and dressmaking
scissors. You can bring in your scissors to the Notions Department
in our Evanston store. Please allow 2 weeks for this service.

FREE FOAM RUBBER CUTTING
When you purchase your high
density foam rubber from our upholstery department, we will be happy
to cut your foam for you at no charge. Give us your template, or bring
in the old cushion, and we will get to work. We can also professionally
sew a wrapping of dacron around your foam for a softer feel around
the edges, but charges for this service do apply. Click here to jump

FREE DEMONSTRATIONS
Most Mondays in our Evanston
Store you will find Mac Berg giving free
demonstrations on sewing techniques in our Sewing Machine Department.
She shows you what's hot in the notions market, and how to accomplish
fabulous effects with little effort. You do not need to call ahead
to register, just come ready to learn, and arrive early for best seating.

SEWING MACHINE RENTALS
Rent a basic sewing machine
for a week or a month. The $100 deposit is refunded when the machine
is returned, and there is a weekly rental fee of $15, or a monthly
fee of $35. This is a popular service, so please call ahead to reserve
your rental. Available through the Sewing Machine Department in Evanston.

SEWING MACHINE REPAIRS
You love your machine, and
you are not ready to give up on it yet. Bring it in. We can fix the
specific problem, or we can give it a complete tune-up which includes
a cleaning, oiling and adjustment of the timing, balance and both
tensions. Prices vary based on service level and needed parts. Available
through the Sewing Machine Department in Evanston. To speak with a

CLASSROOM
RENTAL - "Sewing
Salon"
For our new "Sewing
Salon" you can register your name and phone or email with
us and receive a punch card for room usage on specific dates. The
reduced rate with the punch card will be $5 per day per person, and
when you fill up your 10 punches, you will receive a $20 gift certificate
for more fabrics! Registration is FREE, and the specific
dates encourages a more social atmosphere in the classroom for
sewing enthusiasts.
We are happy to rent
out our classroom for your personal sewing endeavors, without needing
to register for the Sewing Salon. Regularly, our classroom rental
is $7.50 per day per person, and you can take advantage of this anytime
the room is free from scheduled events. Call 847-864-9600 for times.

DRESSMAKER
SERVICES
Although
we do offer custom home decorating, we do not offer custom apparel
sewing services. However, we do collect business cards from local
dressmakers, tailors and other sewing professionals who might be able
to help you. Stop by your local Vogue Fabrics to flip through their
business cards. Some cards vary by department in the Evanston Store.
We can not make recommendations, but we do encourage you to meet with
these professionals and discuss your project and pricing. You can
also contact PACC - the Professional Association of Custom Clothiers
- for local professional assistance.
