Schedule an appointment, to test sew a new sewing machine, embroidery machine or serger. Mac and Jim, our popular sewing machine specialists, take the time to sit down with you and let you try out different machines.

They also give free, unlimited lessons on machine usage for any new machine bought at our store. If you did not buy your sewing machine here, you can still take a 1 hour lesson for $50.

Sewing Machine Rentals and Repairs

When you need a machine just to get you through one project, call ahead to reserve a rental machine. These machines are very basic, so they are easy to use and can accomplish most of what you want to sew. A $100 deposit is required, and is refunded when you return the machine, and the rental fees are $15 per week or $35 per month. Rentals and discounted sales are available for sewing groups and schools.

We also service sewing machines and sergers. A complete tune-up involves a cleaning, oiling, and adjusting of the timing, upper and lower tensions and the balance. This service is $100 and takes about 2 weeks. We also fix the smaller and larger problems that creep up along the way. You can drop your machine off at anytime in the Sewing Machine Department of the Evanston Store, or with the Notions Department.
